I understand that money is tight right now.
I can usually work out a payment plan to meet your budget based upon the following guidelines:
Out-of-court settlements:
I can usually set a fee based upon the number of creditors and your over-all financial picture. But, I cannot quote a fee over the telephone or internet until I meet with you and go over all the options. We can also consider a variation of a reverse contingency which would predicate a fee based upon the total savings of your unsecured debt.
Home equity foreclosure:
Representation in a home equity matter starts at a minimum $225.00. However, you may have a case where I can take the matter on a contingency. Please call me directly at (713) 857-0400 because there are too many factors to consider before I can estimate a fee. I can always save you money!
Chapter 7:
The attorney's fees for an individual or couple (consumer case under median income) ranges from $1200 to $1500, plus the court filing fee and $100 cost retainer. There is also a charge to take the court ordered "credit briefing" and "debtor education" courses which are an outside cost unless you want us to arrange the courses. There are extra fees for businesses, or if you have an unusual or complicated tax or other issue.
Chapter 13:
The bankruptcy courts have a "fixed fee" of $3,825.00, plus the Court filing fee of $310. But, even this fee can be adjusted depending on your individual circumstances. I will also need to pull your credit report and the credit briefing and debtor education fees mentioned above apply here.
I require $350-500 down payment, but the rest of the fee can be paid through your monthly payments to a court-appointed trustee.
NO FEE CONSULTATION:
Picking the right attorney is crucial to beginning your journey to victory. I will work with you on my fee structure. The only way to start fresh is to stick with a financial plan, whether through a Chapter 7 or 13 or through an out-of- court settlement. I have to meet with you to determine which route is in your best interest.
